Air Duct & Dryer Vent Cleaning in Federal Heights, CO
Duct and dryer vent cleaning in Federal Heights, about 1 miles from Thornton.
Right next door to Thornton
Federal Heights is about a mile from our Thornton base, a compact city tucked between Thornton and Westminster with Federal Boulevard running through the middle of it. For us it is a quick trip west across I-25, so any address between 84th Avenue and 104th Avenue is close to home.
Ranches, split-levels and manufactured homes
Much of the housing here went up in the decades after World War II: brick and frame ranches, split-levels, apartment complexes from the 1970s and 1980s, and several large manufactured-home communities along Federal and 92nd Avenue. Each one hides its ductwork in a different place.
- Ranches and split-levels often still have their original sheet-metal trunk lines. After decades of filter changes (and a few missed ones), dust settles along the bottom of those runs and around the return grilles.
- Manufactured homes usually carry the supply duct through the floor, with registers set into the floor itself. Floor registers catch crumbs, pet hair and grit tracked in from outside, and some of it drops straight into the duct.
- Apartments and townhomes tend to have short runs and an air handler in a closet, so the return grille and filter slot are the first places we look.
Dry winters, gusty springs
The north metro is semi-arid. Furnaces run hard through the cold months, and spring wind pushes fine dust in around doors and windows. Dry air also lets lint pile up fast in a dryer vent that is crushed behind the machine or longer than it needs to be.
A typical visit in Federal Heights
We open the registers, check the return side and clean the supply and return runs. Basic air duct cleaning is $199 for up to 10 vents, plus $29 for each extra vent, which covers many smaller homes in Federal Heights. If only a couple of floor registers are the problem, deep duct cleaning at $59.99 per vent may make more sense. We can look at your dryer vent on the same trip.
